Switching smoothly? Check!

Want to switch to our newly enhanced mixtures? Not to worry, you don’t need a transition period. Some pets, however, make more of a fuss than others (just like us humans). In that case, it should suffice to mix the old and new feed and gradually lower the portion of old feed during the following 7 days.

FAQ

No, you don't need to gradually switch to the new muesli and ferret recipes. Just like people, some animals are more picky than others. If you have a picky eater, you can mix in the new food with the old and gradually reduce the proportion of the old food over the course of seven days. If you are switching from another brand of rabbit food to Crispy, be sure to read our tips for a smooth switch.

A few rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters have already had the chance to try out the new muesli recipes. The results of the taste tests were unanimous: the new recipes are a hit and the fluffy tasters even preferred them to the old recipes.

The composition of the mixes and snacks has been adjusted to a more nutritionally balanced formula with more variety, which means there are more ingredients in the recipes. This results in a larger volume. To avoid taking up too much space on shelves, the weight of some recipes has been reduced. The packs still provide you with a logical portion size. For example, a bag of Crispy Muesli Rabbit weighing 2.5 kg will feed one rabbit for at least one month. In addition, our pellets have not changed, so they have the same weight as before.

Both options can be suitable but require different considerations. With mueslis, there is the risk of selective eating: animals pick out their favourite bits and leave the rest, meaning their diet is incomplete. So it's important to check that your animal is eating the entire portion. You can help them with this by only refilling the bowl when it is empty.

With pellets, every piece has the same composition, which means animals cannot eat selectively and there will be no bits left over. Your animal automatically gets all the nutrients they need.

The Crispy Hamster recipe is optimised for hamsters, including dwarf hamsters. Although the dietary needs of other rodents, such as rats and mice are similar to those of hamsters, these species need a little more protein. For them, the Crispy Pellet recipes are a better option. In addition, the Complete range also offers alternatives. If your animal prefers mueslis or mixes, we recommend switching to Nature Rat, Mouse or Gerbil.

Our Crispy food for rabbits is optimised and suitable for rabbits from dwarfs to the giant rabbit breeds. You just need to adjust the portion size to the weight of the animal.

The Crispy Pellets Guinea Pig also contain no added sugar. On the packaging, we choose to emphasise the claim of extra vitamin C because this is essential for the health of guinea pigs.

Our products no longer contain any artificial colours or flavours. Vitamins, colours and flavours can be affected by exposure to light. By removing the transparent window, we make sure that the food remains fresh until your animal eats it. The large bags weighing 12.5 kg and 20 kg are the exception, since they are positioned horizontally on the shelves.

We strive to make choices that respect the environment and reduce plastic waste wherever possible. That is why our small packs are now made of 100% recyclable foil. For this to be possible, we had to remove the zip closure from the small bags. This means we use significantly less plastic but your pet's food is just as well preserved.
